The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) acknowledges the concerns raised by Registered Persons regarding billing discrepancies affecting the 2025/26 financial cycle and takes full responsibility for resolving these matters in a fair, transparent, and structured manner.
As we finalise our Root Cause Analysis across invoice discrepancies, billing processes, and debt recovery procedures, we are looking at working closely with our Voluntary Associations to ensure that corrective actions are informed, responsive, and aligned with the realities experienced by Registered Persons.
In this regard, we request your support in assisting us to consolidate account-related queries from members within your association.
Please share the following form with your members who require assistance or have outstanding account queries: https://forms.office.com/r/33gdxQ1C1g
Key timelines:
Submission deadline: Monday, 04 May 2026
- Feedback to members: By Close of Business on Monday, 11 May 2026
- Consultation webinar: Week of 11 – 15 May 2026 (details to follow)
The form is a critical step in establishing a clear and representative view of registered persons queries. This will enable ECSA to prioritise resolutions appropriately, apply the necessary corrective measures, and ensure a consistent and transparent response.
For context, please refer to the statement issued on 14 April 2026, which outlines the challenges identified and the corrective actions underway .
We value the role of Voluntary Associations as key partners in the profession and appreciate your continued collaboration and support.
Kind regards,
Basetsana Khoza
