Why Register?
Because the law requires people doing engineering work to do so. By doing work identified in the Identification of Engineering Work without registering, a person could be fined or imprisoned and have a criminal record.
It is also a way that your practical experience is validated by your peers in industry (not by ECSA’s administration employees) to determine whether you have 10 years’ experience or only one year repeated 10 times, so to speak.
